Hi, I’m John Morris, but I typically go by Johnny. I'm a senior at Benedictine College majoring in Electrical Engineering. I’m passionate about applying engineering principles to real-world challenges, particularly in control systems design and computer hardware. Outside the classroom, I’m actively involved in music as a drum major and a participant in multiple vocal and instrumental ensembles. I enjoy skiing, hiking, chess, and volunteering in my community. I’m a dedicated learner who values teamwork, creativity, and bringing full effort to everything I take on. Reach out and let's connect!
I enjoy collaborating with others to build innovative, high-impact solutions and am excited by the opportunity to contribute to teams at the forefront of technology. My background in electrical engineering, math, and computer science gives me a strong foundation for solving complex problems and adapting to new technical environments.
I have experience with circuit design, digital logic, and embedded systems, as well as programming in Python and C/C++. My academic work has strengthened my analytical and problem-solving abilities, while leadership roles in music ensembles have developed my communication and organizational skills. I’m quick to learn new tools and concepts, highly dependable, and always motivated to improve and contribute wherever I can. Here is a list highlighting some of my technical skills:
July 2025 - August 2025
During my internship, I engineered intelligent design tools for integrated circuits by leveraging Python, FAISS, and cutting-edge AI models. I developed and deployed retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems that analyzed and generated SPICE netlists with high accuracy. My work involved embedding thousands of schematics, building custom pipelines, and optimizing model parameters to streamline analog circuit design.
June 2024 - August 2024
Transformed and maintained golf course landscapes by strategically mulching flower beds, precision-edging and raking sand traps, installing structural metal edging, and ensuring proper electrical wiring. Applied problem-solving and attention to detail to ensure optimal functionality and visual appeal of grounds through hands-on weeding, repair, and layout optimization.
May 2021 - August 2023
Led operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment by training 20+ new employees in cleanliness protocols and workflow efficiency. Prepared, served, and quality-checked over 20 menu items while ensuring high standards of service and safety. Earned managerial trust to independently open and close the restaurant, demonstrating strong leadership and reliability.
October 2020 - May 2021
Founded and operated a personalized tutoring service focused on math and science mastery for middle and high school students. Designed tailored lessons, explained complex concepts, and boosted student performance through consistent one-on-one instruction.
August 2022 - May 2026
While pursuing my degree in Electrical Engineering.
August 2018 - May 2022
Graduated with honors while taking and passing a total of 6 AP tests and being the drum major of the school's marching band.
